This was a superb budget from the Liberal-Conservative government. In fact, it is one of the best budgets I can remember.
David Cameron says that the Israeli raid upon the “humanitarian” flotilla for Gaza was “completely unacceptable”. He is wrong. What our Prime Minister should find unacceptable is that the so-called aid vessel was packed to the gunnels with clubs, axes and knives. What kind of “humanitarian aid” is that? It is right that Israel should prevent cargo such as this from coming anywhere near the shores of Gaza. The Turkish vessel was warned repeatedly that it would be prevented from coming ashore. Tha... I was never particularly keen on Gordon Brown and his premiership was a very lacklustre affair indeed. Yet at the beginning it was all so different. I can recall the fawning Daily Mail editorials, extolling the virtues of Gordon Brown as though the man was some kind of messiah. It's a very different story now. David Millibeast must be the favourite to take the reigns of the Labour Party and I hope... Continue Reading >>
Whilst the hoped for breakthrough by the Liberal Democrats did not occur, Nick Clegg has actually emerged as the most poweful man in Britain. He will likely decide whether David Cameron will become Prime Minister. In so doing I hope that, whatever else may be necessary, he will ensure that the education budget is ring-fenced. Our children must not suffer for the mistakes of government and greed.... Continue Reading >>
