I have, over many years, taken a keen interest in the politics of Northern Ireland and have long been an admirer of Peter Robinson, First Minister of Northern Ireland, leader of the DUP and successor to the formidable Dr. Ian Paisley. I have seldom seen an interview with any politician as genuinely moving as the one I share here with you now.
I hope very much that Peter Robinson emerges from this difficult time with renewed strength and determination and I extend my very best wishes to him and his family. Shame on the BBC for making unfounded and scurrilous allegations against the man. An utter disgrace. How on earth can he be held responsible for the actions of his mentally-ill wife - actions which he knew absolutely nothing about?
