David Cameron says that the Israeli raid upon the “humanitarian” flotilla for Gaza was “completely unacceptable”. He is wrong. What our Prime Minister should find unacceptable is that the so-called aid vessel was packed to the gunnels with clubs, axes and knives. What kind of “humanitarian aid” is that? It is right that Israel should prevent cargo such as this from coming anywhere near the shores of Gaza. The Turkish vessel was warned repeatedly that it would be prevented from coming ashore. Tha...

That Israel should seek to prevent outside organisations from providing the Iranian-backed Hamas with material support is entirely justified. The so-called "Free Gaza Movement" is a misnomer for the encouragement of terrorism. Its vessels supply Hamas with material in order to facilitate the rebuilding of terrorist infrastructure in Gaza, destroyed by Israel in 2008.

Israel has every right to impede the growth of Hamas, an organisation wedded to violence. In attempting to prevent the breach o...

I hate to say to Telford Tories "I told you so" but on this occasion I cannot help myself. Here is a letter I wrote in the Shropshire Star on February 9th 2009.

Shropshire Star, 9/02/2009

Stop the boasting

The conceit of Telford & Wrekin Conservatives knows no bounds.

Tory leaders openly boast in council meetings of the next Conservative government.

Such arrogance may be dealt a crippling blow if the Tories wake up after polling day to a hung parliament with the Liberal Democrats...

We have finally seen the back of Gordon Brown as David Cameron entered Downing Street this evening. I was never particularly keen on Gordon Brown and his premiership was a very lacklustre affair indeed. Yet at the beginning it was all so different. I can recall the fawning Daily Mail editorials, extolling the virtues of Gordon Brown as though the man was some kind of messiah. It's a very different story now. David Millibeast must be the favourite to take the reigns of the Labour Party and I hope...

Subject: "The Most Powerful Man In Britain Is Nick Clegg"

Whilst the hoped for breakthrough by the Liberal Democrats did not occur, Nick Clegg has actually emerged as the most poweful man in Britain. He will likely decide whether David Cameron will become Prime Minister. In so doing I hope that, whatever else may be necessary, he will ensure that the education budget is ring-fenced. Our children must not suffer for the mistakes of government and greed....
